AGGARWAL 2 Electrical Engineering Department, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, INDIA [email protected], [email protected] Abstract:The presence of communication delay in modern load frequency control (LFC) systems complicates the design and implementation of the controller to achieve robust performance of the system. In this work, the performance of proportional-integral (PI) controller, ∞ H state feedback controller using linear matrix inequality (LMI) and Unified Smith Predictor (USP) has been analyzed in case of LFC with time delays. USP approach is used to design the state feedback controller. An equivalent representation of the augmented plant is designed, which consists of original time delayed plant and USP.
